SING FOR TOFFEE CHOIR

**** Calling All Singers ****

Honley Ladies Choir invites you, either as an individual or as a choir, to be part of our amazing event during Breast Cancer Awareness month, October 2025. Abreast The M62 is an exciting, creative and collaborative project with singers coming together to support northern charities in Hull, Leeds, Huddersfield, and Liverpool. Together we are raising awareness about preventing breast cancer, supporting and caring for those experiencing breast cancer both directly and indirectly, raising money to support the charities and bringing a strong message about how much we can do ‘Together’.

Abreast the M62 is an ambitious event using music to bring communities together along our unique and important landmark and to join in the work of Hull and East Riding Breast Friends, Maggies Yorkshire, Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust Breast Care Team, Prevent Breast Cancer, and Maggies Wirral.

Sing For Toffee Choir is a fun choir, open to all, no auditions and very informal, we meet every Monday at Stocksmoor Village Hall where we sing along to songs from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s as well as taking requests from those who attend.

People who like to sing in the shower but feel less than comfortable about singing in a group love it and the feedback we get is that everyone loves what we do and feel refreshed and invigorated after each session.

All the words are projected onto a large screen placed at the front of the hall and we simultaneously play professional backing tracks to help and support our singers.

The choir is run by local professional musician Dominic Beresford and Roger Beaumont who takes care of all the technical stuff. 

Dominic also plays along on his guitar so singers can immerse themselves in the music and get the feeling of singing along as part of a band.

Singing starts at 7pm and ends around 8:45pm with a short interval half way through when complementary refreshments, tea, coffee, soft drinks, biscuits etc are provided.

We also have a few random and fun based music themed quiz questions with prizes each week.

The all inclusive cost is £5 per person.
