The Stocksmoor Village Hall was opened in 1973 after years of fund raising by the villagers of Stocksmoor. The plan to build the Hall was created in 1964 when a group from Stocksmoors then population of only around 290 decided that the Village needed a meeting place. A committee was formed and there followed nine years of fundraising through a series of events including, a car rally, walks and dances. The group also won a number of grants, including from Kirkburton Urban District Council and the ground was generously donated by Mr P G Norton. The Hall was officially opened on 8th September 1973 by Mr Norton’s daughter, Mary Staveacre.
Now some 50 years on the Hall continuers to be at the heart of the Village as a valuable resource both for our own Village and also for the wider community.

Inclusivity and Accessibility
It's important to us that our Village Hall is accessible and welcome to all.
In 2023 we successfully secured a lottery grant for the Village Hall which allowed us to install a new access to the main entrance.
This has made it fully pushchair and disabled access friendly.
The Hall has a wide entrance with double doors and large entrance foyer.
All paths and parking areas around the Hall are level and of a tarmac surface to aid wheelchair and pushchair access.
The Hall has a disabled access toilet and baby changing facilities.
