There is now a West Yorkshire Metro Access Bus from Stocksmoor to Morrisons at Waterloo every Wednesday morning. It is of particular benefit to people who are unable to use standard bus services as the driver assists passengers from door-to-door, including boarding and alighting. Wheelchair users can also use it. The buses are fully accessible, fitted with seatbelts and the most up-to-date wheelchair restraints. You need to have a bus pass or disability pass and to live in Kirklees to use the service.
To book yourself onto the bus please contact the Access Bus Team on 0113 348 1903 (Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm). Passengers must complete a form with their details including if they will be taking any taking mobility aids with them, for example, a walker or wheelchair.
Pick up Wednesday approximately 10.15am and returning at 12.15pm
Pick up at your own address and taken to Morrisons door at Waterloo
Passengers will be informed of a time to return
Passengers will then be picked up at Morrisons door and returned to their home
To date the driver has assisted with carrying passengers shopping bags
